Real Estate Taxes

Benner Township’s real estate tax collector is Connie Peters beginning 1/1/2020.  Due to the stay at home order due to the COVID-19 there will be no open tax office hours at this time.  Taxes can be put in the drop box outside her front door or by mail.  Phone calls are still be accepted.  The office will be closed August 21 – 29 and December 22 – 28.   Her mailing address is 917 Seibert Road, Bellefonte, PA  16823.  The tax office phone number is (814) 548-7192.  Fax number is (814)548-7772.  Connie has also installed a locked drop box outside her front door if you wish to drop your payments off.    The discount period has NOT changed for the county and township real estate taxes.  The end of the discount period is still APRIL 30TH.  The face period, however, has been extended through September 30th (normally it would be through June 30)  Penalty is added on any payment on or after October 1 (normally would be on or after July 1)

Earned Income Tax

Local Earned Income Tax Filing Due date:  State legislation was passed late last week authorizing the Department of Community and Economic Development (DCED) to coordinate with local political subdivisions to extend filing and payment deadlines for the Local Earned Income Tax.  At this point, Centre Tax Agency is awaiting confirmation from the DCED and our Tax Collection Committee (TCC) to extend the 2019 Earned Income & Net Profits Tax (EIT) return/payment due date and the 2020 1st Quarter Estimated Declaration payment due dates until July 15, 2020.  Once we have an official statement, an update will be provided.  

2019 Local Service Taxes

Benner Township’s LST Tax (Previously known as the Occupational Privilege tax) is now $52.00 beginning January 1, 2009.   Five of the fifty-two dollars is retained by the Bellefonte Area School District. The Centre Tax Agency office acts as the tax collector for this tax.  Their office can be reached at (814)278-4709.
